A Message to PC Party members and Prospective Members
A very important part of this going forward agenda will be the modernization of the Party constitution at the next AGM. The constitution the Party currently operates under stipulates that a draft of a new one must be in the hands of members 45 days in advance of the meeting. It is therefore very important that the Party's email lists of members and prospective members be updated. If you are a current member or a lapsed member who are planning to renew for the AGM, please send us your most current email address as we wish to begin weekly contact with our membership as we move through this aggressive 8 point agenda. Thank you.
Your PC Party Executive
Congratulations Pierre Poilevre
The Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan congratulates Pierre Poilevre on his resounding victory in the Conservative Party of Canada leadership race. The PC Party of Sask looks forward to seeing innovative solutions to Saskatchewan's and Canada's challenges in a ever-changing world. We would also like to thank Jean Charest, Leslyn Lewis, Scott Atchison and Roman Baber for bringing forward the issues and desires of thousands of Canadians to this leadership race. Hopefully those good ideas can be melded with Mr. Poilievre's to bring about a Conservative government in our great country.
PC Party Mourns The Death of Queen Elizabeth II
The PC Party of Saskatchewan offers its condolences to the Royal Family on the passing of Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen always held a special place for her Canadian members of the Commonwealth and we in Saskatchewan have had a special place for her in our hearts and minds.
God bless the Queen.
Our Condolences to the James Smith Cree Nation
The Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan offers our condolences to the James Smith Cree Nation and the community of Weldon on the loss of their community members and families. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the bereaved families and friends. When tragedy strikes our communities in Saskatchewan we all pull together and support one another. All members of the PC Party are thinking about these two communities after the unspeakable crimes that were committed against them. We would like to thank the police officers, the first responders, ambulance attendants and all the volunteers who rushed to offer assistance.
Rick Swenson, Acting President, PC Party of Saskatchewan.
PC Party of Saskatchewan President Resigns
Victor Teece, PC Party President, has resigned his position effective July 23, 2022.
Victor was elected President at the Party's AGM in January 2022. Mr. Teece was a candidate in the 2020 election in the Last Mountain-Touchwood constituency for the PC Party.
Victor looked forward to help build the Party for the next election. Unfortunately, a combination of business pressures and health issues has convinced Victor that his role in rebuilding the PC Party will occur as a Party member rather than as its President.
"As President of the Party, working with other executive members, I think we have given the PC Party the opportunity to appeal to the vast majority of Saskatchewan voters", said Mr. Teece.
The PC Party thanks Mr. Teece for his very important contributions since the last election and wishes him well. The Party will be selecting an interim President in the next short while to fill out Mr. Teece's term until the next AGM when members will elect a new executive committee.
For more information contact Rick Swenson, Interim President at (306) 690-4959 or (306) 631-5461.
